Roy grew up in the small town of Great Falls, Montana. He excelled in sports and academics throughout his youth which led up to his success in high school and college.
Roy played football for Western Washington University where he graduated in 2004 with his Bachelors in Fitness and Exercise Science. He became a certified through American College of Sports Medicine that same year. Following his graduation, Roy was hired at the Washington Athletic Club as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and continued to work there for over 15 years.
In 2004 Roy also started his own business, Driven By Fitness, LLC. Roy has been working with clients in their home, helping to run sport camps, and designing workout programs for clients, schools and private organizations.
Roy started volunteering in youth sports in 2002. He was involved in coaching at various sports camps at WWU, reffing multiple sports, and coaching flag football through I9 Sports and UAFLAG. In 2011 Roy was hired on as the running back coach and head strength coach for King's High School in Edmonds, Washington where he continues to work today.
Roy has always had the desire of owning his own facility. In 2021 he opened his own gym Coleman Strength & Recovery in Seattle, Washington.
In Roy's free time he enjoys playing flag football, snowboarding the local mountains, working out at the gym, assisting with his kids’ sports teams and spending time with his family.
